2023 Annual Convention
Content Creation for
Recently, the Episcopal Diocese of Arizona approached me for help with branding the 2023 Diocesan Convention. Bishop Reddall and her team wanted to ignite interest and breathe new life into this year’s event, with a key goal of encouraging the organization’s leaders to attend in-person. This year’s theme, “Go – Gather – Grow – Give,” is intended to to inspire and excite each priest, deacon and lay leader about the vision of the Episcopal Diocese. The hope is for every attendee to return to their congregation encouraged, equipped and excited to continue to make disciples.
Customized Solutions
After listening carefully to team’s stated goals and direction, I put together a proposal and presented it to the Director of Communications. As well as beautiful illustrations and animation, all my proposals incorporate comprehensive ideas to help the team to reach their goals, drawing on my expertise in the field of marketing and communications. Every component of every package I present is based on the specific needs of the client. This proposal included a list of suggested deliverables to help in meeting the team’s goals, including graphic assets for both digital and print use.
Creating Comprehensive Content
For the Episcopal Diocese of Arizona’s event, I created a series of illustrations, each highlighting a single word in their theme “Go – Gather – Grow – Give.” The series allows the communications team to progressively and strategically share content about the convention in the months leading up to the event.
The title graphic, shown above, is the main image representing the 2023 Convention, red, blue and brown elements reflecting the Diocesan brand colors. The prickly pear, representing the local desert landscape keeps the imagery specific to the values and identity of the Diocese of Arizona as requested in the brief. Graphic Assets
This package includes images delivered in different formats, for both digital and print use, as shown below. Each image comes ready cropped as a square, vertical and horizontal image, optimized to be used on multiple platforms as needed: websites, emails, social media and printed collateral. Their package also included a license to reproduce them onto on a variety of promotional products, such as pens and t-shirts for the day of the event.
Animation
I created an animated loop, shown below, for the communications team to display prior to videos and slideshow presentations that begin each scheduled session of the Convention. The loop can also be used as advertising leading up to the event. This comprehensive series of graphics and animation will allow the client to promote brand recognition, unifying all information and materials.
Customizing Collateral
Finally, I delivered coordinating magazine spread templates, to which the communications team can easily add written content to. The versatile templates will be used to showcase an article inviting leaders to attend the convention; they can also be used later to show post-event highlights while maintaining the visual style of the event’s branding. The magazine will be published in July 2023.
Creating Connection
I thoroughly enjoyed working with the the team at the Episcopal Diocese of Arizona. Helping teams achieve their goals, enriching the work of every participant and infusing positive energy into the process brings me so much joy! One of my favorite parts of any project is building relationships with my clients, walking them through the creative process as we work to come up with content that will have everyone involved thrilled to be a part of it.
